For many years, it was Mr Antonio Delgado who wrote these “News from Spain” articles. In the last twenty years, he published five such articles, in issues 154 (October 1992), 170 (October 1996), 171 (January 1997), 193 (July 2002) and 216 (April 2008) of RIDA. After his death on 1 July 2011 (see RIDA 230, Oct. 2011, pp. 2-4), this Review entrusted me with the task of succeeding Antonio Delgado in the preparation of the “News from Spain”, which I hope to do to the same high standard and with the same dedication as my predecessor. This article covers the period 2008 to 2011. The legislative developments that occurred in this period are presented in this issue while the main judicial decisions rendered by the Spanish
